Vermont: home to maple syrup and same-sex marriage

Hooray for Vermont! Gay marriage is legalized, making it the fourth state in the union to stumble into the light of the 21st Century.
Vermont is now the fourth state to permit same-sex marriage, but the first to do so with a legislature's approval. Approval of gay marriage in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa came from the courts.
Evangelical Christians everywhere are vomiting in frustration that homosexuals are being treated like citizens. So are we on a roll now? Is there momentum here?
